The story behind Ecode

Ecode is the story of three friends studying a Masters in Sustainability at Trinity College Dublin, who decided to make a difference with a business project.

The idea was born in September 2021 in one of the Irish capital's pubs, a stone's throw from the Grafton Street shopping street. One fact stuck in our minds after class...

"64% of consumers want to buy less and more responsibly. At the same time 77% of fashion companies are vague about their sustainability data"

We identified a huge problem here and started ideating solutions. This is when we build the idea of Ecode. An easy-to-use, practical and reliable solution to get information about the origin and impact of each fashion garment in-store and online.

Our early-stage idea was validated soon by receiving the runner-up position in the Provost’s Innovation Challenge (November 2021) and with a space in the LaunchBox 2022 summer accelerator programme at Trinity College Dublin.
